Instructors

Gary Pitman operated the sulfur (claus), sour water, amine, tail gas, and coker units, then moved on to maintenance and turnaround planning. In 1998 with Paul Orlowski he co-founded Coking.com, and later CatCracking.com and SulfurUnit.com to promote Safety and Reliability and increase communications and understanding of the environment and regulations.

He has performed Site Safety Audits in Asia, Europe, South America and North America and currently is the subject matter expert for new product development for major equipment manufacturers. He is in high demand for consulting on operations, design, training and commissioning.

Jeanne Rameau began her refining career in the Crude and Vacuum units, then moved on to Coker, Sulfur and Amine. She has coordinated extensively in Unit Construction, Commissioning, Startup and Shutdowns. Jeanne has been involved in a wide variety of Peer reviews, Hazops Process safety management teams, Vendor reviews and Environmental compliance projects. Included in her experiences, she has worked with teams involved in MDEA conversion, Amine filtration, Construction of Tail gas and Sulfur Scrubber units, Planning and Turnarounds.
